Maison Robert Schuman The Robert Schuman House of the Conseil Général de la Moselle aims to foster knowledge of the work of this founding father of Europe and the history of European unifi cation.

It furthers these aims by maintaining Schuman’s former residence in Scy-Chazelles, promoting research and reaching out to a wider public through the permanent and temporary exhibitions in the new museum.
Maison Konrad Adenauer This was Konrad Adenauer‘s home from 1937 until he died. Today, it provides remarkable insights into the private everyday life of a prominent statesman.

The house is surrounded by a magnifi cent garden with a view over the Rhine valley. In the museum a little way below the house, there is a permanent exhibition of documents, memorabilia and photos that bring to life Adenauer‘s long political career.
Maison Jean Monnet The Jean Monnet House, which now belongs to the European Parliament, illustrates how the European idea became a reality thanks to the action of dedicated political leaders.

It was here that Monnet developed his thoughts on the European Coal and Steel Community. Historical documents and fi lms highlight the contribution of an eminent founding father of Europe.
Maison Alcide De Gasperi

The Museo Casa De Gasperi not only preserves the memory of De Gasperi and the roots of the European Union, it also transmits to future generations the values, ideas and goals of the founding fathers of Europe to future generations.

The museum is also anchored in the history of a region, that of a country and of Europe as a whole, illustrating the historical circumstances of his time and the political horizons of an era.

The unity of Europe was the dream of a few. It became the hope of many. Today it is a necessity for all of us.“ (Konrad Adenauer)

Once adversaries in two devastating world wars, European states are now to a large degree closely connected. Whilst many Europeans deserve acclaim for their efforts, the groundwork of Europe‘s economic and political unity was laid, above all, by four outstanding
men: Konrad Adenauer, Alcide De Gasperi, Jean Monnet and Robert Schuman.

The continuing desire for cohesion and peace led the house of Europe to grow further. In the meantime, many states have joined together under the umbrella of the EU.

The museums of the fathers of Europe are building a network in order to pass on the ideals of the founding fathers, perpetuate their ideas and foster understanding among peoples. Today the memorials to these four great Europeans not only bear witness to history, but offer a forum to a broader public for discussion of current issues and the challenges of tomorrow.Actualités : Conférence de Presse du Réseau des Maisons des Pères de l'Europe le 5 mai 2010 à Bruxelles
